Southbank Centre

First Exhibition
I went to the Exhibition of The Hayward ‘Mark Wallinger Curates: The Russian Linesman' on the 27th of February. The project that inspired me the most was a video that showed past and present at the same time. Half the screen showed past and the other half present. The old footage was taken from various old films and some were pictures of places, whereas the new clips were taken now at the same places, with same angle and pretty much the same time of the day. The vast change of construction, architecture is obvious and is a spectacular change.

The reason I went to this exhibition was related to my Single Project. I can look at something similar, but stick to the side of photography rather the video.

Second Exhibition
Ujino and the Rotators
Description of the project from http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/all-events/productions/ujino-and-the-rotators-79f (27/02/09)
Renowned Tokyo-based sculptor and musician Ujino show his sound sculpture and performance project, The Rotators, for the first time in the UK. Domestic appliances such as blenders and hairdryers are assembled together with the Rotator head created from DJ mixing decks in this chaotic and elegant installation.
